MGT Norway: The Trip from Oslo to Ål to Flåm to Myrdal to Flåm to Balestrand.
Phew. There was a freak train tunnel fire a few days before we arrived in Oslo, and the trains weren’t totally back in sync by the time we were scheduled to leave the city. Instead, we took a train to Ål and then hopped on a bus (for a trip which turned out to be one of the most beautiful bus rides of my life, with a series of unlit, one-way tunnels of up to 2 miles long) to Flåm. There’s a short scenic train ride between Flåm and Myrdal, complete with thundering glacier fed waterfalls and harrowing 90˚ inclines.
