MGT Balestrand: Norwegian Landscape A lot of the famous Norwegian painters came to Balestrand to capture the incredible landscapes in the area, so the town set up a bunch of “picture frames” to highlight such views. We saw a lot of Norwegian landscapes in the art museums both in Oslo and Bergen, and it was great to get a chance to see the painters’ inspirations first hand. Incidentally, Norwegian landscape art is the best of the Norwegian art genres.
