MGT Bergen: Munch, Munch Everywhere
We went to the National Art Museums in both Bergen and Oslo, and (again now that I’m out of Norway I can truly say how much) I can’t stand Edvard Munch. Munch, like Vigeland, is considered a Norwegian national treasure. His paintings are undoubtedly interesting, but I can’t help but think that he’s a melodramatic misogynist who repeats his figures and has little instruction to guide his talent. Whew, I feel better.
